Pediatric Pelvic & Renal Preparation

A full bladder is recommended if possible but may not always be realistic for young children. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's ability to prep for their exam don't hesitate to contact us.

Infants: Please do your best to feed your infant shortly before their ultrasound appointment. This helps give your child a higher chance of having a full bladder, this will also simplify the procedure for the baby, caregiver, and sonographer as it is best if the child is not hungry or awaiting a feeding during their exam.

Children: If possible please encourage your child to drink 2-3 glasses of water or juice within 30 minutes prior to the exam and to their best to avoid emptying their bladder until instructed by the ultrasound technician.
